A CUP OF COFFEE

A Cup of Coffee is a brand concept that utilizes basic mathematical operations as a form of design aesthetics in a brand identity. This project aims to provide a new perspective by using fractions, equations, formulas and bar graphs to visualize coffee information and create a visual language. It attempts to provide attractive visuals that allow consumers to learn more about coffee as they enjoy it.

DESIGN CONCEPT   |   COFFEE  = MATH
Mathematics is the science that deals with the logic of shape, quantity and arrangement. Mathematics is all around us, in everything we do. It is so entwined with today’s way of life that we cannot fully comprehend the information surrounding us without a basic understanding of mathematical ideas. Even simple daily tasks, such as creating a schedule, cooking, or making a cup of coffee involves a certain degree of mathematical knowledge, visualization and application.

The design concept of this project features the use of equations, formulas, ratios and bar graphs to visualize information and create a unique visual language. In this project, mathematical concepts are used as a form of artistic expression and design aesthetics. It studies the visual metaphor between mathematics and coffee. It is an explorative project which attempts to understand and utilize mathematics in a brand – in an artful and enjoyable manner.
